01 / Overview
IngrediCheck is an AI food scanner. You describe your food rules in plain English, scan a barcode or an ingredient label, and get a clear Matched, Unmatched or Uncertain verdict with the ingredients that triggered it, checked against every family member at once.
Eightinity took the founder’s early iOS and backend prototype and grew it into a multi-platform product: a SwiftUI iOS app with an App Clip and Share extension, a Jetpack Compose Android app, a React website, a browser extension, an LLM scan service and product-data import for more than 15 retailers, all in one monorepo.
02 / Problem
Labels hide allergens and additives behind aliases and E-numbers, and generic nutrition grades ignore personal diets like gluten-free, low-FODMAP or halal. In a household where each person avoids something different, every shop means re-reading every label.
03 / Our Role
Vishal and the Eightinity team became the product team: native apps on both platforms, the web and browser extension, the AI scan pipeline and the data that feeds it, plus product design for new flows.

Streaming scan results
Barcode scans stream one evolving result over Server-Sent Events, so the screen fills in as product data and the AI analysis arrive instead of waiting on a spinner.
Multi-retailer product data
Import workers pull products from more than 15 sources, from OpenFoodFacts and USDA to major US, UK, Australian and Indian retailers, behind one lookup.
Family food preferences
Per-member food notes and versioned onboarding checkpoints restore safely on both iOS and Android, so a whole family can be set up once and kept in sync.
